Teddy and Donna Dyer, nicknamed the “love birds”, are a husband and wife who began volunteering at Shepherd’s Pantry together in November 2020.
When Teddy retired, he and Donna were looking for something to do in their local community. Donna reached out to a Shepherd’s Pantry volunteer and the rest is history!
The first day the “love birds” volunteered, their first job was sorting bread. Now, Donna is also known as the “Dog Lady” and she knows every client who has pets! Every Monday, Donna ensures clients with pets in need are also provided pet food in addition to the client’s usual order.

On Monday Distribution Days, Teddy manages traffic control and greets clients. He enjoys making connections with every single client he sees and helps direct each client to their drive-thru pick-up place.
